4 Days / 3 Nights

DAY 1 Arrival – Observing city tour

Transfer from Zvartnots airport to the hostel. Observing city tour, during which you will learn the history of the capital, will pass the main streets, will see the main buildings. Overnight: Yerevan

DAY2 –Yerevan – Garni – Geghard – Sevan – Yerevan

Breakfast at the hostel. Tour to Garni, is the only pagan temple left in Armenia. It is a blend of Greco-Roman and Armenian styles built by King Trdat I in the first century A.D. and dedicated it to the God of Sun. Then will drive to Geghard Monastery (13th century) carved out of the adjacent mountain and initially called Ayrivank (the Monastery of the Cave ) is included in the World Heritage Site. Due to the fact that the famous spear, with which the Roman soldier wounded Jesus, was kept here for 500 years, the monastery was called Geghardavank (the Monastery of the Spear). Drive to Lake Sevan, one of the greatest high mountainous fresh water lakes of Eurasia. It’s a fascinating collage of turquoise waves playing with wind and mountains reflected on water. Visit Sevanavank Monastery on the peninsula. Back to Yerevan. Overnight: Yerevan

Day -3 Yerevan – Noravank – Areni – Tatev – Karahunj – Yerevan

Breakfast at the hostel. Tour to Noravank monastery (13th-century) which is best known for its two-storey Surb Astvatsatsin church (to get to the second floor one need to take the narrow stone-made staircase jutting out from the face of the building) and the breathtaking view to the gorge. Then we will taste Armenian wine in Areni. When in Tatev monastery ( 9th century) we will enjoy the splendid architecture of the monastic complex, the breathtaking view to the deep gorge, see the oil press facility built in the 17th century. And last but not least, to get to the monastery one will need to take the “Tatever” cable car, which was recorded by Guinness World Records as the longest non-stop double track cable car. Our last stop during this tour will be ancient observatory Karahunj or Zorats Karer, which is 3, 500 years older than Stonehenge in England and 3, 000 years older than the Egyptian pyramids. Back to Yerevan. Overnight: Yerevan DAY4 Yerevan – Etchmiadzin (Mother Cathedral, St. Hripsime, St. Gayane) – Zvartnots

Day -4 Yerevan – Etchmiadzin (Mother Cathedral, St. Hripsime, St. Gayane) – Zvartnots – Departure

Breakfast in the hostel. Tour to Etchmiadzin, one of the three saint places in Armenia, the center of Armenian Apostolic church. We will visit Mother Cathedral, St. Gayane, St. Hripsime churches just a few hundred meters away from the Etchmiadzin Cathedral. Then we will take our way to Zvartnots, 7th-century cathedral. Now in ruins, it is located at the edge of Etchmiadzin. Cathedral and Churches of Etchmiadzin and the Archaeological Site of Zvartnots are included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. Transfer to Zvartnots airport.
