Trip   to Ladakh 8n/9D

Day 1 – Srinagar airport pick up,, drive to sonamarg – 95 km from main city..(It is a popular tourist destination, nestled within the imposing Himalayan peaks. .. It lies at an altitude of 2800 m above sea level. Sonmarg had historical significance and was a gateway on ancient silk route  along Gilgit connecting Kashmir with Tibet.   sonamarg still is a base camp for Ladakh on NH 1D, and is strategically important for Indian army for the defence of Ladakh..) Night at hotel at sonamarg

Day 2 – Sonmarg to kargil. (125 km) Morning after breakfast, drive towards Drass war memorial  crossing zojila pass, ( zojila pass – Zoji La is about 115 km from Srinagar, the state capital, and 15 km from Sonmarg. It provides a vital link between Ladakh and Kashmir Valley. It runs at an elevation of approximately 3,528 metres (11,575 ft), and is the second highest pass after Fotu La on the Srinagar-Leh National Highway. It is often closed during winter,)  DRASS – (Kargil War Memorial, is a war memorial built by the Indian Army, located in Drass, in the foothills of the Tololing Hill.. It is located on the Srinagar-Leh National Highway 1D.. The memorial is in the memory of the soldiers and officers of the Indian Army who were martyred during the 1999 conflict between India and Pakistan. The conflict later became known as the Kargil war ). Night at hotel at kargil.. ( Kargil is a town in the districts of Ladakh region, in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir.Itis the second largest town in Ladakh after Leh.. it is transit hub for travellers on NH 1. 80% of total population are Muslim believer.) Day 3:- LEH – KARGIL; 223 KM Leh is a town in the Leh district of the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir .It was the capital of the Himalayan kingdom of Ladakh, Ladakh mean – ; Land of high passes.. Visiting Leh Ladakh can be a great experience as these places have a lots of natural beauty. This beautiful hilly region, every year, is visited by a large number of local as well as foreign tourists. It is both a popular summer as well as a winter adventure destination like  Chader trek. ( a trek on ice.) Its untouched beauty, snow-capped mountain peaks, lush greenery. That is not all. With the range of adventure activities that it has to offer such as trekking, mountain biking, rafting, and mountaineering and so on, Interesting places to visit between Leh & Kargil are: : Chamba statue at Mulbekh village.. : Namkila pass.. : fotula pass.. : Lamayuru monestary.. : Alchi monestary.. : Sangam point.. : Pathar sahib Gurduwara.

Morning after breakfast drive towards leh, after 1  hour drive visit ; Chamba Statue and Inscriptions Around 45 kilometre east of Kargil town heading toward Leh, is the famous Chamba Statue in Mulbekh village, Monastery is known for its two gompas (Buddhist fortifications of learning) and a 9 metre tall statue of Maitreya Buddha. Namkila pass : Namika La or Namkila Pass is at hieght of  12,139 ft),  in India  along the Srinagar-Leh highway. Fotula pass : Fotu La pass is on the Srinagar-Leh highway, stands at a height of of 13,478ft (4,108m) above the sea level. This mountain pass is referred to as the highest point on the highway, going beyond the well-known Zoji La. Lamayuru monestary : Renowned as Tharpa Ling which means the ‘place of freedom’; Lamayuru monastery is the oldest and one of the largest monasteries in Ladakh region.. The monastery is famous for its rich wall paintings, collection of thangkas, murals, scriptures and statues of different forms of Buddha and other deities.

Alchi monestary :

Renowned as the oldest Buddhist learning centre in Ladakh, Alchi Monastery is located 70 km from Leh in Jammu and Kashmir in north India on the bank of Indus River. A national heritage site, it is distinct from other monasteries in Ladakh as it is situated on flat ground unlike others which are located on hilltops. The foundation of the monastery was laid by Tibetan translator Rinchen Zangpo in the middle of 12th century. Alchi is known oldest & beautiful monestary  of LadakH.

Sangam : SANGAM – (Confluence of river Zanskar and Indus point) is located on right side towards the Leh city on Kargil – Leh highway. I

IF you are going to Leh to Kargil then stop at this spot which is famously known as Confluence of Indus & Zanskar Rivers.  There is special points , so that you can have a beautiful view of this confluence from the height. Zanskar River is shiny blue in colour, on the other hand Indus looks a little green. In the Winter Season – Zanskar freezes completely during some part of the winter to enable the Chadar trek, the Indus keeps flowing though it too would have started to freeze in patches. Summer or winter, this confluence makes for a great sight. Gurduwara pathar sahib:  is a beautiful Gurudwara sahib constructed in the memory of Guru Nanak, about 25 miles away from Leh, on the Leh-Kargil road, 12000 ft above sea level. The Gurdwara was built in 1517 to commemorate the visit to the Ladakh region of Guru Nanak Dev, the founder Guru of the Sikh faith. Gurduwara is fully maintaned by Indian army..

Day 4 LEH – NUBRA VALLEY (150km)

(Nubra) is a tri-armed valley located to the north east of Ladakh valley,  Local scholars say that its original name was Ldumra (the valley of flowers). The Shyok River meets the Nubra or Siachan River to form a large valley that separates the Ladakh and Karakoram Ranges. The Shyok river is a tributary of the Indus river. The average altitude of the valley is about 10,000 ft,, above the sea level. The common way to access this valley is to travel over the Khardung La pass from Leh town. Interesting places to visit in nubra are: 1-                Khardong la pass ; this pass is very important for the people of nubra valley as well for the army, because it is the gateway to nubra valley,, it is also well known famous tourist spot because of its height appriomately 18,000ft & is known as highest motorable road in the world. 2-                Deskit monastery: deskit village is a block & heaadquaters of nubra valley and this village is also famous for huge statue of lord Buddha built in 2010.    Diskit Monastery also known as Deskit Gompa or Diskit Gompa is the oldest and largest Buddhist monastery in the Nubra Valley of Ladakh, northern India. 3-          HUNDER: Hunder village sits like an oasis in the middle of cold desert in Nubra valley of Jammu and Kashmir. Hunder Nubra has acquired fame for its sand dunes, the cold desert that surrounds it, Bactrian camels and its breath-taking natural beauty. hunder is famous for camel safari.. 4-           Sumur village – Samstanling monestary : The picturesque village Sumur in Nubra valley region is a charming little gem of Ladakh. Calm and peaceful is what this village is all about and giving it an added beauty is the Samstanling Monastery. Samstanling Gompa is located in Sumur Village in the Nubra Valley of the Ladakh.The Monasterywas founded almost 150 years ago. The place is to be found in the middle of pleasant scenic beauty. 5 – PANAMIK Village:  Panamik is situated about 150 kms from the Leh city. Panamik Village is situated at an elevation of 3,183 meters beyond the sea level.  A beautiful scenic village in the Nubra valley and famous for its hot springs, the Panamik is the last destination for tourists travelling across Ladakh. The hot water springs of Panamik are enriched with a high amount of Sulphur. Night at hotel/camps/resort/cottages at nubra.

DAY 5 – BACK TO LEH Overnight at hotel at Leh.

Day 6 – LEH –PANGONG – 155 KM: Morning after breakfast visit famous Thiksay monestary (Thikse Gompa or Thikse Monastery (also transliterated from Ladakhi as Tiksey, Thiksey or Thiksay) is a gompa (Tibetan-style monastery) affiliated with the Gelug sect of Tibetan Buddhism. It is located on top of a hill in Thiksey approximately 19 kilometres (12 mi) east of Leh in Ladakh, India.) Later drive towards famous Pangong lake.. PANGONG LAKE – Pangong Lake also known as Pangong Tso is a beautiful endorheic lake situated in the Himalayas and is 134 km long, extending from India to China. Pangong Lake is situated at a height of 4350 m and is one of the biggest tourist attractions of the country. Overnight at lakes in  camps, wooden cottages etc

DAY 07 – PANGONG – TSOMORIRI – 196 KM Morning after breakfast drive to another beautiful lake known as tsomo, riri –     The lake and surrounding area are protected as the Tso Moriri Wetland Conservation Reserve. The lake is at an altitude of 4,522 m (14,836 ft). It is the largest of the high altitude lakes entirely within India and entirely within Ladakh in this Trans-Himalayan biogeographic region. It is about 26 km north to south in length and two to three miles (3 to 5 km) wide.

DAY 08 – TSOMORIRI – LEH, 210 KM Back to leh vai another route through Taklangla pass,, (TAKLANG LA PASS) Taglang La is a high mountain pass at an elevation of (17,160ft) above the sea level,. It’s one of the highest mountain between tsokar to leh on LEH MANALI highway… on the way visit small lake known as tsokar(TSOKAR – The Tso-Kar Lake is known as ‘White Lake’ because the white salt of the water deposits all over the lake shores. Tso-kar Lake is the smallest lake among the three important lakes in Ladakh) on the visit rancho school, the school is very famous after the shoot of super hit movie 3 idiots.. in ladakh its real name is DRUK PADMA KARPO SCHOOL..

Evening if time permits visit famous Shanti stupa,, (Shanti Stupa is  a Buddhist white-domed stupa (chorten) on a hilltop in Chanspa, Leh district, Ladakh, in the north Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. It was built in 1991 by Japanese Buddhist Bhikshu, Gyomyo Nakamura and part of the Peace Pagoda mission) Evening shopping at leh main market. Overnight hotel at leh.

DAY 09 – Airport drop.  Tour end. Tour including: # Double sharing room accommodation with breakfast and dinner at all places # Inner line permit for restricted areas of Pangong, and Nubra valley, guest are requested to carry a original ID card n photocopy of permit s along with them..
